My name is Taisiya Styopina. I live in Ukraine and have been sewing Waldorf dolls for 15 years. During this time, I have taught this skill to many people and of course, I have improved my technology myself.

My teacher was the book by Karin Neuscheutz and I was filled with admiration for the wisdom of Waldorf pedagogy. I took a complete new look at the role of a doll in a child’s life and discovered that my inner child completely agrees with this vision.

Now the Waldorf doll is becoming more and more popular and recognizable in the world, but its image has also changed a lot. Adults tend to “improve” simple and understandable things. Therefore, now you will

hardly find a traditional Waldorf doll. First, they sewed on ears, made a nose, then additional relief of the lips, alpaca hair, knees, finger, etc. and now this is a doll “based on a Waldorf doll”. One easy movement -

And the simplicity is gone. But it is precisely this that attracts children. Children need simplicity. Adults need details. And I constantly have an internal struggle between a child who needs a blank canvas for creativity

And an adult who wants a finished picture. It seems to me that I have found the perfect balance - tradition, harmony, purity and … details that adults like so much.

2-day Workshop in creating a 36 cm Waldorf doll.

The master class lasts two days. On the first day, we will learn how to form the doll's head, taking into account the anatomy and proportions that will help us create exactly the cute childish features. You will learn how to make plump cheeks that will not lose volume over time, a thin neck, how to avoid wrinkles in the knitwear around the neck, I will teach you how to correctly determine the most successful location of the doll's eyes and mouth, and how to form the doll's posture. On the second day, we will learn how to correctly fill the doll's body with wool, evenly and tightly, you will also learn all the secrets of the proportions of the doll's body, and the technology of assembling the doll's body. At the end, we will sew on the hair and select clothes.
